Episode 049: Everybody set the 8-bit spirit free

Greetings programmes! After another massive delay caused by too much going on at work, causing me to relax (among other things) in front of the Xbox rather than sit down in front of the microphone every month or two, here’s the first episode of 2011(!). Hopefully making up for the radio silence with nine carefully selected tunes – including not one, but two classic remixes. As usual mixed in with a brief recap of what’s been happening in the world of C64-related music.

  1. Great stuff and fantastic to have the show back – it’s been far too long! Hope it won’t be another 8 months before show 50! πŸ™‚

  2. Yay! The annual C64 Remix Podcast just released its episode for 2011! πŸ˜€ Just kidding. Hope you find the time to sit in front of the microphone more often now.

  3. Woop Woop

Thanks again for another cool c64 podcast, so many memories!!!!

    Let the good times roll……

  4. Thanks for another great show! See you next year! (J/K, we’re here ALL THE TIME)

  5. Still listening; still hoping for more. Excellent show. Came out right when I had a lot of work to do and nothing to listen to, conveniently.

  6. Jan! *Phew* thought we had lost you to married life!

I’m getting here abet late, but still…I haven’t had a good c64 mix fix in several k!

Thanks for keeping the scene alive! And for continuing to maintain RKO!

  7. What a great surprise all of a sudden!

Nice show πŸ™‚ But I had a bit of a laugh picturing mountainbiking in Copenhagen πŸ˜€

  8. @Andrew: Married life isn’t getting in the way. Working life, on the other hand…

@Per Fredrik : True, Copenhagen isn’t exactly mountain territory. πŸ™‚ We do have several pretty good single tracks about half an hour away, though.

  9. this it my first time on c64takeaway.

  10. Hi Jan,

this is incredible that I found your site – what you do is nearly vanished everywhere – you saved me days in positive waves this brings back. I just sit here, working in a 3d project for a customer and listened to music playlists geting older ond older, every hour that vanishes this evening (or night) – I just stopped in my favorite mod-files folder (nobody likes – only me) and opened up one really nice trance version of “the last v8” – I just took a look at the nfo in the player to take (a fast look) at the creators website and must notice – this domain is darked as so many others meanwhile. So I started googeling and – hopped on your page. IΒ΄ve never been here, but man, I need to tell you – I love your podcast πŸ˜‰ nice work you do and please keep on it – even if you update it twice a year what must be hell of a job – dont quit it. “You’re one of the last descendants of a dying race” (I took this from Wing Commander) but this fits most…
    thanks,
juergen (and sorry for my bad english)

… to bad IΒ΄ve been in Copenhagen this year πŸ™
