Hi Jan,
after a long break I now have the possibility to follow your episodes again.
Years ago I listened to the show using a MP3 player (!) while traveling by train. I always enjoyed the show. As the trips took longer than the shows, I saved them (and battery life) for special moments.
As my workplace changed recently I now have to drive by car. Here your podcast comes in. Thanks to modern entertainment it’s easy to listen today.
The quality of your show is still high. I like the mixture of verbal information and the songs you select. I’m always surprised what gems you dig out. It must be a lot of work. Not only producing but also developing a storyboard and selecting the SIDs. Where is all thes motivation coming from? How long does it take to record one episode? Can you give a rough estimate?
As episode 64 is near, do you plan something special for #64?
Many thanks for providing this great show for all these years. I hope you have enough energy to continue.
BTW: Denmark (again) won the Handball Championchip recently. Looks like everyone from Denmark is crazy for this. Are you?
Greez from Gummersbach/Germany

Hi Chris,
Glad to hear that you’re back on board and enjoying the episodes. I totally agree that it is way easier to consume podcasts these days compared to the before-times. When I started out back in the early naughts, I was using the “Juice” podcast receiver to download the latest episodes, and then manually having to sync the MP3 files over to a portable player. As for your questions; Recording and editing an episode is usually done in about 3-4 hours – but before that a LOT of work goes into preparation. The hardest and most time-consuming part by far is listening and selecting the tunes and coming up with the playlist order – somthing that goes through quite a few iterations. Once the playlist is finalized the script is “fairly” easy to write. All that is done over many days/weeks, so I have no idea how much time is spent on it, really. But the amount of preparation that goes into each episode, can indeed make it hard to find the motivation. As for episode 64, I can’t go into details – but yes, there’s something planned.
